I watch the entire series in one day,This is addiction
German version is better
Beautiful yes… but bringing these fated people to life again is really sad..I saw the first episode and realized who these people were in real life only a few minutes into the show. . If you ladies do watch the series, be sure to have tissues handy as your tears will need them… Reminding me of the estate Tara in "Gone with the wind"…. This post Victorian (actually Georgian) era was indeed shortly also going to be gone with the wind…
This show made me very thankful to have been born a peasant. Can't believe I watched the entire first season it's not the kind of thing I'd normally get into and this snob lifestyle just annoyed the f… out of me. But sometimes I like to check out something different and by the end I was getting into the characters. I'll likely watch a second season as the ending made me want to find out what happens next.
A mixture of titanic and gone with the wind.. 🙈
In fact the entire mini series Empress is a mixture of Alice in Wander land and and some other or Bertold Brecht Opera or any other whimsical story Everything in this Film EMPRESS most of the costumes and stage setting is strange and has no lightness of the Imperial court of France Joseph or Bavarian origin of Sissi no dirndls are worn The story , in Empress might have been set in a Rabbit hole of Alice in Wonderland, the look of the film is dark and depressing and so heavy handed .Once a talented Broadway play producer told me In staging a play or amazing a film it is all about good taste choices . So sad that to make this miniseries or any other productions is a gigantic effort requires a director to work hard as all the film crew There I give my full sympathy , but so disappointed
There was a huge mistake, in my opinion , by casting Devrim Lingnau in the role of Sissi the Empress Elizabeth of Austria The actress in this role is Totally anti charismatic , and there no chemistry between her and the Emperor France Joseph Character Very boring The character of Sophie empress dowager is much moser interesting thanks to the actress who plays her . . The actress Amy James Kelly who is beautiful, has a great screen presence, charismatic and feisty would have been an excellent choice One can watch her on a Netflix new series about King Charles the VIII One wants to watch Amy and watch her . Of course no one can compare to Romy Schneider portrayal of Sissi in Ernst Marichka trilogy But we are talking about great talents then , that generation is gone never to come back . Very sad that a new tribute to The Empress of Austria Elizabeth ( ( SISSI ) was botched .
Ok, as an American, a fan of The Crown, and a German Studies minor at my university, I was really excited about finding out about this series. Like a German version of The Crown. I even watched the German version of the trailer.
Of course, all the top comments are filled with glowing praise for the series. But you have to scroll further down to find out how people really feel. Hoo-boy…
Lot of complaints on how the series was not shot in Austria, where the historical setting is. How the accents are more German vs. being authentic Austrian. How the supposed love story is focused on rather than historical facts. How this is the 3rd TV series about Empress Sisi and people are already sick of it.
Damn. And I was going to recommend this to my class, too. : (
I tried to ignore a lot of bs, I've made it to episode 3 and here it got completely ridiculous with that contemporary musical number…wtf is that???
Her mother in law it's my favorite character.
Absolutely fantastic show, but I will say this, it HAS to be watched in it's original German audio with subtitles IMO
A disaster, just like Sissi from 2021. Gosh, will they ever make a good story about her?
Grew up on Sissi, L'Emperatice D'Autriche et Sissi Face a son Destin…this new series seems to have taken the innocence out of it…
I just started watching this and I am hooked. This is very well done. The actress that plays Elizabeth is so pretty, and such a great actress.
It is official, season 2 comes! 🥳🥳
RACIST! Not enough BLACK actors!!!
Why is the trailer dubbed?
There is season 2 ??????????
We want season two asap 🥲
I'm so intrigued by this! Is the show available in German audio on Netflix? (I am originally from Germany and cannot handle watching this in cringe-y English dubbed voices, lol.)
does anyone know where I can watch it with english dub apart from netflix?
Well done! I really enjoyed this series. Looking forward to season 2.
I am in love with this series! I did a deep dive about the Empress Elisabeth and found out she was wayyyy ahead of her time. She had gym equipment in her quarters in the castle and would watch her weight by dieting.
She was a gym rat before it was a thing!!🤣💕💕
Omg I love this series! Franz and Elizabeth have such a strong, intense, beautiful chemistry. They are so fun to watch. I need at least 5 more seasons of this show. They casted the perfect leads.
When is season 2?!?!
Season 1 was so short!!! I LOVE this. So sad there were so few episodes
It's very good, a hint of lesbianism, which you can ignore, but the last episode they are groom a child for trans or gender change. Disgusting child abuse. What perverts write in the garbage?
I was so glued to my coach… dammmmn
Stunning series, looking forward to the second season. I think the actors are magnificent and have amazing chemistry. Very inspiring
Maybe Netflix should glorify those who are worthy of it instead of a self centred slut that stole her sisters husband. That's what's wrong with the world encouraging young girls to copy the wrong sort of people but hey I guess that's why Netflix also gives Megain Markle a voice to Shameful!
6 episodes ain't enough. This series is amazing.
This is a great show, I absolutely loved it! I particularly liked that they didn't turn Sophie in a cruel witch that insulted Elisabeth with everything she did or said. They gave her a sad background story that makes us (or me, anyway;)) feel sorry for her. I absolutely loved her! And Elisabeth was also great, of course. Looking forward to season 2!😍😍
Cant stand dubbing. I think its shit.
I got hooked on this miniseries, I really longed for the SECOND SEASON PLEASE!!!!
İt was terrific. I like this kind of period dramas. Generally British do this series but German did lt,too.👏👏👏
Dubbed?
